This can of goodies is like a TARDIS, much bigger on the inside. I can’t believe how many goodies were in this can.
Look at all this loot- there were 3 packages- silvervine, valerian and premium catnip. Plus a birdy that sounds just like a real one ( Jinx caught it and delivered it to Mom). There was a ball and a spring and a tin of kitty mints and a laser and a hexbug and a pouch of food too.
Thank you Denmaster! I promise to share- eventually.

Hi everyone! Today I want to tell you about a great product from a company that has been in business since 1986.
* Disclaimer: We received a butterfly design corrugated scratcher from Cat Claws, Inc. in exchange for a fair review.
Cat Claws, Inc. was started by Bill and Gale Seliskar. Bill worked for a corrugated box company in 1986 and realized their cats were always scratching the samples he brought home ( in addition to their couch). Once they made these and added catnip, the cats preferred them to the couch and the business was started.
In 2006, they added Scratch ‘n Shapes to their product line. These led to the start of their retail brand, Imperial Cat in 2007.When Bill passed away on 2009 and his wife in 2010, their 2 daughters took over and the company continues to thrive by offering smart solutions for devoted cat owners. The company is based in Morrilton, Arkansas and makes many products right in the USA.
This butterfly is their newest design. And Sammy definitely approves.
It sells for $24.95 and comes with a big bag of catnip to sprinkle on for more fun. Sammy is 19 pounds, possibly 20 and it was plenty big enough for him. Joanie and Phoebe have enjoyed it too but Sammy is the scratcher king of this house.

Hi everyone! This month my cats tried Merrick Backcountry Grain-Free Real Chicken Recipe Freeze-Dried Raw Cat Treats from Chewy. *
* Disclosure: We are part of the Chewy Blogger Program. We received the treats for free in exchange for reviewing them and spreading the word about Chewy. All opinions are our own.
These treats were a hit or miss with nothing in between. Joanie and Brody gobbled them right up.
KaTwo, Phoebe, Snowball and Penny did not like them . Nine out of thirteen is still pretty darn good though. They do break up easily to make them easier to chew. I just fed them as treats, but they can be added to the top of canned foods too.
The ingredients list is short which is always good:
Chicken, Chicken Liver, Dried Peas, Dried Potatoes, Gelatin, Salt, Mixed Tocopherols (Preservative).
Chewy has them on sale for $2.72/ 1 oz. bag. And don’t forgetMerrick Backcountry Grain-Free Real Chicken Recipe Freeze-Dried Raw Cat Treats has free 1-2 day shipping on all orders over $49 so stock up on everything while you are there.
Hi everyone ! A few of you knew what kind of collars Sammy and Brody had on in yesterday’s post because you have also used them. For those that didn’t know, I am eager to tell you because I like to share information that can help other cats.
My sweet Cat Scout, Sammy was getting to be very aggressive toward Brody. He has always chased him, but now he was making contact and getting Brody’s fur in his claws. He was also peeing on the bed once in a while too. Spraying Feliway helped a little, but not enough. Luckily, Teddy’s Mom, wrote to me about calming collars and how she heard they really work. I immediately called the local pet store, but they didn’t have any. After researching them online, good old Chewy had the best price of $12.98 for a 3 pack. I ordered them and they arrived in less than 24 hours.
The collars have phermones ( just like Feliway) and they also are lavender scented. I had read that lavender is calming, but I am sensitive top smells and was not thrilled by the scent. It was bearable though, I usually get an instant headache from scented candles, perfumes and scented cat litter, but this didn’t give me a headache. I checked the 3 brands sold by Chewy and all are basically the same so I went with the Sentry brand after reading the reviews.
I was just going to put one on Sammy, but my husband thought if Brody and Sammy smelled the same, it would help. Brody used to be a little too frisky and chased any cat that walked past him. He just wanted to play, but the other cats got nervous. I am happy to say they have both calmed down a lot.
On day one there was a big improvement, but Sammy still went after Brody. I think it was more of a habit though because he started to chase him then stopped like he was thinking, ” why am I doing this?” It has been over a week now and we have a peaceful home. I am thinking of trying them on some of the other cats too like Jinx who hates other cats and KaTwo who suffers from feline hyperesthesia. Maybe I should try one too for when I go to the crowded mall on a weekend.
They are supposed to last a month and I will continue for a few months then I will see if they behave without. Even if I have to buy them forever, they are well worth the expense. Has anyone else used them and if so, were you as pleased with the results?
*This is not a sponsored post, I just wanted to spread the word about a great product.
Hi everyone! Today is the day for a reflections of the A-Z Blogging Challenge post. This was my third year participating ( and completing) the challenge. I enjoyed it as always and found a few new blogs to follow that I would have not found otherwise. I was disappointed that there was no master list as the previous years. I realize it was too time consuming to manage and keep checking to make sure people posted daily, but I did miss it. I had crocheted several items before the challenge began, but I liked having to make it a priority because there are many days I don’t have time to crochet.
I just finished Alec Baldwin’s memoir, Nevertheless. I enjoyed his first book, A Promise to Ourselves, about his custody battle for his daughter. This book was excellent too, he is not only a great actor, but also very intelligent. He seems to have learned from past mistakes and has incredible insight as to things in his past that led him to make mistakes.
Hi everyone! This week we are doing #PetPraising selfies that we plan to enter on Purina’s website for a chance to win a photo shoot and be featured on RealSimple.com.You should all enter too. You can print out a sign like we did or just upload your photo and add the sign on the website.
I got to see Grammie on Saturday. I love her so very much.
I wrote my second article for The Daily Mews. It is about how I have been trying to help Mom and KaTwo lose weight to no avail. Click here to read it.
Sammy had fun at the derby, here is a photo of him with beautiful Maggie.

This month they asked for a seafood dish. Mom doesn’t eat seafood except for solid white albacore tuna and even that she has a love/hate relationship with.
Tuna Macaroni Salad
Box of small shell pasta $1.00
mayonnaise $2.99 for Hellman’s 30 oz.
5 oz. can of solid white albacore tuna in water -drained and flaked store brand free this week with purchase of Hellman’s.
1 cucumber-peeled and chopped $1
salt and pepper
Cook pasta according to directions on box, drain then add cucumber, tuna, salt and pepper and mayonnaise, stir together and chill in refrigerator.
Sorry, that is the best we could do for seafood. Mom usually shares the tuna with us too so there is less in the salad.
I got to see Grammie on Saturday. I love her so very much. I am going to see her on Monday too.
The A-Z Blogging Challenge ends tomorrow- any guesses on what Mom made for Z? She is very proud of it, there was no pattern so she made it up as she went along. Sometime this week we will be having a giveaway for 2 lucky winners to split all the A-Z loot.
