Sammy’s Busy Day

Hi everyone! Today we are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. I used ribbet to edit  photos for my Sammy to attend two parties today.

First, he is off to help harvest the bacon crop at Teddy and Angel Sammy’s house.

Then he is off to Boris’  7th Annual Sci-fi Party. It goes from 11AM -11PM and Sammy definitely wants to be there at 9PM for when Stunning Keisha will be the DJ. There are going to be all kinds of cool prizes including a Cat Lady Box. It is all happening on Twitter, here is a link to Boris’ site so you can check the prizes, DJ’s and even donate to his charity that helps lots of cats in need. It is a Sci-fi theme so Sammy is dressed up as an alien from one of my favorite Sci-fi movies- does anyone know which movie?

Guest Post By Cats Scouts Maggie and Felix

Hi everyone! It has been quite some time since we have had a guest post from our friends, Cat Scouts Maggie and Felix so we are thrilled to have them today.

Greetings, everybody!  We have missed visiting, so we are very excited to tell you about a new Turkish film, “Kedi,” all about the famous cats of Istanbul.  For centuries, the city’s residents and visitors have befriended the thousands of cats, fed them, and sometimes provided shelter and veterinary care.  Even President Obama was photographed petting one of the kitties during his visit to Turkey a couple of years ago!

   I

“Kedi” not only follows the activities of selected street cats, but the film also highlights the importance of the animal-human bond in an historic city undergoing massive development and population pressures.

We can’t wait to see this film, and hope it comes to a theater near you!  If not, you can download it on Vimeo.  Just “google” Kedi download.

Thank you Maggie and Felix. We also want to join Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. Phoebe wanted to see how she would look on the big screen so she went to Photofunia to make this.

Caturday Saturday

Hi everyone! I didn’t make any art for this week, but I have some art to show you. My friend, Jamie, the one who made my adorable blog logo and header, has been making some cool sculptures that he has for sale on Etsy.

This is a sample, he can make them to match your cat. If you are interested, here is the Etsy link.

While I am writing about Etsy, I want to tell you about 2 more stores.

Billy the Time Cat’s Mom has a store with crocheted items, pixel bead items and more. He needs some dental work so any sales will help fund that. Click here

I also just discovered that Toby’s Mom has an Etsy store with all kinds of items like vintage books and depression glass. Click here

Two more things…….on Thursday when I recommended the show, Pushing Daisies, many of you commented that you enjoyed it too. I wanted to let you know there was a Canadian show that Pushing Daisies was supposedly based on called Wonderfalls. It was about a girl who worked in a souvenir shop at Niagara Falls and things with a face ( stuffed animals, figurines, etc.) started talking to her. It was pretty good too, did anyone else ever see that one?

And last, but never least, Penny and her box. All the dates everyone guessed have passed so I took the names of everyone that guessed she wouldn’t pee in it ( Pix Under Oaks, Messymimi, Renee, Miss Mudpie and Swiss Cats) and wrote them on paper, crumpled them and had my hubby choose one. And the winner is: Rene from It’s All About the Cats. Congratulations!!!

Teletubby

Hi everyone! For today’s art, I turned Phoebe into my favorite Teletubby, La La, using face-in-the-hole. I have been getting dvd’s from the library for my great-niece to watch. I don’t know why they don’t still show them on television or stream them on Netflix. I think it is a cute show.

Phoebe has all your guesses recorded for the When will Penny Pee in Her Box Contest? Thank you all for your guesses, in fairness to all, we can’t take any new guesses. We will keep you posted.

Happy Year of the Rooster!

Hi everyone! Happy Chinese New Year!  This is the year of the rooster, which happens to be my sign. It is odd that there is a dog, but no cat. Yesterday, I read on another blog an interesting and fun explanation as to why that is. To  read about it click here.

I like having the new year start later in January, maybe I will finally start working on some of my goals for 2017. And if I don’t, there is always the Jewish New Year in September.

We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. I used Photofunia to make a fortune cookie for all of you.
